launching an HDF or a non-bootable floppy
Is AmiGame able to launch workbench dependent games?
Yes, absolutely! However, the following Workbench (1.3 and 2.0 and 3.1) are required as they are under copyright and sold, users will have to get them before carrying out the following process :
+ [ HDF and Non-bootable floppies ] :
1/ When AmiGame request it, open the image of the Workbench floppy (according to the Kickstart version).
2/ Click on the button Edit Configuration.
3/ - HDF games -
Insert your *.hdf in drive DH0: then leave the window while clicking on " OK "
[ OR ]
3bis/ - WB Games -
Insert your game floppy image (* adf, *.ipf, *.dms, *.adz, *.fdi) in drive DF1:
then leave the window while clicking on "OK"
4/ Double click on the game within the Playable Games list in order to launch the Workbench.
5/ Once the Workbench environment has loaded, users have to double-click on the game icon.
Some HDF games may require an "assign" (under Workbench). Theortically, You may even turn non-bootable HDF to bootable ones. If you need assistance, contact the team on the AmiGame board.
+ Bootable HDF games ] :
IF you have built your homemade bootable HDF, follow the process described above without inserting the WB floppy.
The game will launch normally (make sure you have built a correct start-up sequence).
