Fast launching guide

 

This guide is neither truncated or simplified, it simply explains the process leading you to launch a game. It is therefore "fast" by nature!

 

We'll consider that your game was downloaded and decompressed in a folder. You can find games accompanied by their reviews on the partner websites (see the framework "links" of the web site title), or download them on your favorite emulation website.

 

Here is the step by step process of launching.

 

 

Launching Process:

 

1/ Select a game within the framework "Encyclopaedia", or make a search with the built-in engine.

 

2/ If this game comes with any links, visit the partner site to discover information about the emulation of this game. There are sometimes special versions of this one availaible, game manual included..

 

3/ Within the framework "Playable games", select the button "mark as playable". A window pop up then asks you to indicate where is the downloaded game. If there are several floppies, indicate the FIRST one.

 

3bis/ In the same way, you can constantly, without influencing the other adjustments of this game, "ADD TO FAVOURITES" the selected one or "DELETTE FROM FAVOURITES". 

 

4/ Once your game is considered playable, select the button "EDIT CONFIGURATION". You can check that the configuration used by default is in conformity with the characteristics of the game. If not, you can select the appropriate one. Besides you can indicate a new path for the game or remove it from "Playable Games". The box Cycle CPU/Blitter Exac should be ticked only in particular cases which are indicated.

 

5/ Always within the same framework, you have to click on "Start Game" to start the emulation OR select the game in the list, then double-click on it.

 

6/ A right click on the game's title launches a pop-up menu which enables you to quickly reach the various options described aboves.

 

 

Launch an HDF game

 

Some sites may offer HDF rather than ADF, some adf's are indeed non-bootable. Follow in this case the process described in the following chapter : Launch an HDF game.

 

 

After launching

 

If all goes well, the WinUAE window opens and the game launches.

Here some WinUAE shortcuts which will be useful :

 

- [CTRL] + [F12] : Toggle window/fullscreen mode

- [ImpSys] + [FIN] : Multiple Screenshots

- [ALT] + [TAB] : Allows to switch to your desktop without quitting WinUAE

- [ALT] + [F11] : Fast stop of the emulation

- [F12] : Launch the config menu of WinUAE

 

 

Hey dude!... This fucked up!...
